amusing, but text-to-speech (TTS) engines can’t do anything but get close. And they absolutely fall apart on non-words. I remember having SYNC in my Mustangs; its voice recognition was OK but if I asked it to play a band or album that wasn’t an actual word, it shit the bed. For example, I once asked it to play something from the band DamagePlan. No matter how I said it, I couldn’t get SYNC to cue up anything. so I did the manual selection using the center stack controls, and when a DamagePlan song was playing I issued a “what’s playing’ command to SYNC. It read back that I was listening to a song by “Dammagiplin.”
Computers can only do what we tell them to. they can’t do what we mean.
